Senior Editorial Intern for the 2026 Teen Zine
The Muse is looking for someone both verbally and visually creative to be our Senior editorial intern of our in-house literary teen zine project, Musings. This intern will work within the Youth Program and will head the editorial team under the guidance of the Youth Program Director. We need someone organized, driven, and passionate about uplifting young writers in our community. Any experience with graphic design, especially on Canva, is appreciated, but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Creating the new edition of our in-house literary teen zine, Musings!
- Managing and collaborating with junior editorial partners through the submission, selection, creation, and distribution of the 2025 Teen Zine
- Designing flyers & other advertisements, both physical and digital
- Outreach & social media work in relation to the Zine
- Hosting the Teen Zine Launch Party
This is a PAID position; and we can offer students credit with their university and will work with you and your advisor/department chair/team to fulfill the requirements of a for-credit internship.
Hours per week: 10-20
Open to: College students
Length of Internship: June-July, 9 weeks.

Junior Editorial Intern for the 2026 Teen Zine
The Muse is looking for someone both verbally and visually creative to be our junior editorial intern for the fiction sector of our in-house literary teen zine project, Musings. This intern will work within the Youth Program and will handle the fiction or Poetry sector of the zine under the guidance of the Youth Program Director and the Senior Editorial Intern. We need someone organized, driven, and passionate about uplifting young writers in our community. Any experience with graphic design, especially on Canva, is appreciated, but not mandatory, and the intern must be a creative writer. Editorial experience via school or extracurricular activities is a bonus.
- Collaborating with Senior and other editorial partners through the submission, selection, creation, and distribution of the 2024 Teen Zine
- Distributing flyers & other advertisements, both physical and digital
- Outreach & social media work in relation to the Zine
- Assisting the Teen Zine Launch Party

Community Engagement Assistant
The Muse is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative person to join our team. As an intern you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and gain hands-on experience in community engagement, event planning and execution within the non-profit sector. Collaborate in a supportive work environment with a flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments. An opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the community while gaining valuable hands-on experience in event planning and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Weekly check-in with Literary and Community Engagement Coordinator.
- Assist with set up, hosting, and cleanup of on sight events. example: Open mics, write ins, and book launches.
- Provide on-site support for one large event, including setup, registration, and logistics coordination.
- Assist with packing event supplies for off sight table events (No heavy lifting).
- Assist with making sure events are staffed with volunteers.
- Assist with post-event evaluations and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Creative thinker with a passion for event planning and execution
- Effective communicator

Teen Club Leadership Intern
The Muse Writers Center is seeking a motivated teen to lead our Summer Teen Writers Club! This intern will work directly with the Youth Program Director and will play an active role in planning, leading, and shaping the club experience. The selected intern will be expected to attend all sessions, guide discussions, and create engaging writing prompts and exercises for participants. This is a leadership role perfect for teens interested in writing, publishing, community work, and teaching.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and leading writing prompts and exercises for the Teen Writers Club
- Facilitating club meetings in a welcoming, inclusive, and creative environment
- Promoting the Teen Writers Club to peers and the broader community
- Designing a promotional flyer using Canva, with guidance from the Youth Program Director and Program Coordinator
Ideal candidates will:
Have a strong interest in creative writing
- Be comfortable leading peers and facilitating discussion
- Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and reliability
